About Me

My name is Dominic Kennedy, and I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada, where I developed a strong work ethic, a love for the outdoors, and a genuine passion for helping others. I am currently a first-year Business Administration major at the University of Nevada, Reno, working toward building a foundation that will prepare me for a long-term career in business, leadership, and product development. I chose UNR not only for its strong business program, but also because I wanted an environment where I could challenge myself, grow socially and academically, and gain real-world experience that will shape my future.

Throughout high school and early college, I have worked in roles that strengthened my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. As a Senior Recreational Assistant, I managed over 50 children each day, resolved conflicts, coordinated activities, and ensured safety—all of which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to stay calm under pressure. I also worked as an Equipment Worker for Rent-A-Tent, where I built large event tents, transported heavy materials, and developed strong physical endurance and attention to detail. In addition, my time as a Catering Supply Runner and Table Setter helped me build customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.

Alongside work and school, I enjoy prototyping ideas and building products that make everyday life easier. Two projects I am proud of include a magnet-sealed shower curtain designed to prevent leaks and save water, and a color-changing dorm-room communication light meant to help students stay connected. Outside of academics, I love hiking, sports, volunteering with foster youth holiday programs, and finding ways to contribute to my community.

My long-term goal is to develop meaningful products, become a strong leader, and create a positive impact in Nevada and beyond.
